Martin is a litigation and contentious regulatory lawyer based in our Bristol office. He has extensive experience helping a wide variety of clients to resolve disputes through litigation, arbitration and mediation, with particular expertise in complex, high value and multi-jurisdictional disputes.

He specialises in the financial services sector. His FS regulatory expertise includes advising on both FCA investigations and enforcement action, while his FS litigation experience includes leading the defence of a £12m claim brought against a number of IFAs and insurers arising from the collapse of Keydata, and £20m of claims brought against a leading wealth management firm and its advisers connected with film finance and other tax schemes.  

Also, he regularly advises clients involved in disputes in the health, industrial, retail and telecoms sectors, which has involved prosecuting a £30m warranty claim in 4 jurisdictions, and defending a complex IPR claim brought by one multinational pharma JV partner against another. 

Alongside his commercial litigation practice, which includes a track record of securing urgent injunctive relief where required, Martin has a particular interest in supporting clients undertaking sensitive internal investigations.
