GC Collective – The General Data Protection Regulations – a radical change to data protection legislation – is your business ready?
These new Regulations introduce fundamental changes to data protection law. Businesses need to take steps now to prepare:
- Customers: make changes to systems and update privacy notices to ensure full compliance. For example, update customer facing data protection notices to include the new, highly prescriptive, requirements.
- Employees: change contracts of employment, handbooks and policies to ensure employee data can be processed in line with the much stricter and more detailed conditions.
- Suppliers: renegotiate contracts with suppliers to reflect the new obligations imposed on data processors.
The cost of getting it wrong is high as businesses can be fined up to 4% of the annual worldwide turnover of the organisation.
We will provide you with an overview of the new requirements and set out some practical steps that you should be taking now to ensure you comply. This session will be led by Rhiannon Webster, a specialist data protection lawyer. We will be joined by global data security specialists NCC Group, who will provide an overview of the latest security vulnerabilities and requirements.
