  • Non-compete clauses: in May this year, the Government launched a call for evidence seeking views on whether non-compete clauses stifle entrepreneurship and innovation. We are waiting for the outcome on this.
  • Grandparent leave: the consultation on this, which had been expected this summer, has been postponed.
  • Consultation on caste: the government has announced that it will be proceeding with a full consultation on caste discrimination. The consultation will seek views on whether additional measures are needed to ensure victims of caste discrimination have appropriate legal protection and effective remedies
  • Apprenticeship Levy: HMRC has published a first draft of regulations implementing the apprenticeship levy, and is seeking comments by 14 November 2016.
  • Enquiry on corporate governance: BIS has launched an inquiry on corporate governance, focusing on executive pay, directors' duties, and the composition of boardrooms, including worker representation and gender balance in executive positions. The deadline for responses is 26 October.
