Our people

A business like ours is truly dependent on the enthusiasm,
commitment and intellect of its people, as well as the quality
of the relationships that they build with clients.

We firmly believe that treating people well pays dividends and that philosophy is at the heart of everything we do. We invest substantially each year in learning and development because we believe this ensures our people are at the top of their game and can provide the best service to clients.

Based on feedback from all levels of staff, we have developed a comprehensive competency framework for all our lawyers and support staff that is designed to encourage behaviours that will assist in the development, recruitment and retention of our people.

Investors in People

We are proud of the fact that we are an Investors in People (IiP) organisation. We were one of the first large law firms to  have achieved the standard.  We have been an IiP organisation continuously since 2000 and achieved the Silver Award in 2009.  We will be reaccredited in 2012 and hope to achieve a Gold Award.

Why is IiP important to us?

The IiP ethos fits the culture and aspirations of DAC Beachcroft.  We recognise the importance of:

  • providing quality training and development opportunities for all of our staff.
  • continuously improving the way we do things as a business and as an employer
  • having an ambitious and robust business strategy
  • open communications
  • the value and importance of diversity.
For clients, employees and potential employees it is an immediately recognisable symbol of our commitment to quality.

The DAC Beachcroft Forum

The DAC Beachcroft Forum is a consultation and information-sharing body, set up with the agreement of DAC Beachcroft staff and partners.  Its aim is to:

  • Improve the two-way flow of internal communications in DAC Beachcroft by providing an opportunity for certain business information to be shared and discussed with employee representatives.
  • Inform decision making by consulting employee representatives on a range of issues that will benefit from an employee perspective. Consultation will involve seeking and considering the views of employee representatives with a view to reaching agreement.

Each office has its own local forum and sends representatives to meetings of the national forum at least three times each year.
